What questions are most often asked to LCG managers before concluding a contract "Cargo insurance"?
Any type of cargo transported by any mode of transport, except for dangerous goods approved by UN regulations
A capable natural person or legal entity, regardless of the form of ownership, resident and non-resident of Ukraine
Damage, destruction or total loss of the cargo, as well as additional expenses of the insured, which may arise as a result of the transportation of cargo by any means of transport
It is set according to the amount declared by the Insured (the insured value of the cargo). It can be established for a separate insurance case, for the first insurance case, for a group of insurance cases, for the insurance contract as a whole. It can be set separately for each insured unit of cargo or aggregate (lot, group, category) of cargo. Additional costs related to the transportation of the insured cargo and determined by the Rules may be included in the insured amount. When insuring cargo on CIF and CIP terms in accordance with the International Rules for the Interpretation of Commercial Terms (Incoterms Rules 2010), the insurance amount can be set at 110% (one hundred and ten percent) of the value of the cargo and freight specified in the sales contract
The contract can be concluded for: the term of single (one-time) transportation; the term of transportation of the entire certain volume of cargo according to the contract or delivery agreement; the term of transportation of a certain amount of cargo during a certain period; If it is difficult to determine the period of transportation (for example, in the case of long-distance rail transportation), the insurance contract may provide for the establishment of a temporary limit of the insurance coverage for one transportation
