Ukraine Folk Art Group the "Radist" Dance Ensemble

"Radist" (eng. "Joy") is the very feeling rising in the lucky fellow's soul. The "Radist" group members are joyful children giving both joy and happiness to many hundred thousand spectators worldwide.

The "Radist" dance ensemble was created in 1998 in the Palace of Children and Youth in the city of Vinnytsia. "Radist" is one of the best creative teams in the Vinnytsia region and even Ukraine, where more than 400 children aged from 5 to 18 years old are taught choreography skills.

Intensive work aimed at reviving and enriching national art and promoting the best folk choreography patterns associated with the Podil region traditions are carried out by the "Radist" ensemble. The ensemble's repertoire is based on the following Ukrainian dances: "Hopak", "Podilskyi Peredzvin", "Podilski Vykhyliasy", "Oh, in the Field and in the Valley", "Pleskach", "Volyn patterns", "Bukovinsky festive", "Bakotchanka", “Kalinka”, scene choreographic compositions: “Kolya”, “Idler”, “Guys, unharness your horses”; vocal and choreographic compositions "Ukraine", "Bless" and others - more than 40 concert numbers. Complex technique, high stage culture and performers' excellence are harmoniously combined in each dance.

The "Radist" ensemble's strong point is the high-lying level of artistic skill, due to which it is a constant participant of both cultural events and contests. Our team is known both in Ukraine and abroad. It is our ethnic culture's active propagator at the international level.

The "Radist" dance ensemble was honored to receive the Grand Prix of International competitions in Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Turkey, Thailand, Czech Republic, as well as become a laureate of the most prestigious international folklore festivals in 30 countries of Europe, Asia, and Africa: in Italy (4), Germany (9), Finland, Poland (16), United Arab Emirates, Turkey (28), Bulgaria (5), Romania (2), Moldova (4), Lebanon, Taiwan (3), Lithuania (4), Latvia (3), Spain, Netherlands, Morocco, Greece (3), Macedonia, Jordan, Slovakia, Czech Republic (2), Switzerland, Thailand (3), France (4), Belgium, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, Austria, Ukraine...

The "Exemplary Artistic Group" title of honor was awarded to the "Radist" dance ensemble in 2003, and in 2010 the collective received the "Folk Artistic Group" honorary title.

The "Radist" ensemble members are engaged in vocals with advantage. The "Exemplary Artistic Group" honorary title was awarded to the "Radist" ensemble vocal group in 2016.

Foundation history

The "Radist" vocal group dance ensemble exemplary art collective was created in the Vinnytsia City Palace of Children and Youth named after Lilija Ratushnaja ​in 1998.

A small folk dance team managed to turn into a powerful dance group for a pretty short time, becoming one of the best choreographic groups in the Vinnytsia region and even Ukraine. Currently, more than 400 children aged from 5 to 18 years old study the art of choreography in the ensemble.

The team took part in more than a hundred International Festivals and contests around Ukraine and abroad, representing Ukrainian art in the most prestigious folklore forums in 30 countries of Europe, Asia, and Africa with much success, having received the Grand Prix and becoming the winner of numerous international contests and festivals.
